# Subscription status

> What each status on the Plans page means and what to do about it.

Your subscription status is the badge on the **Current plan** card on the **Plans** page.

## Statuses

| Badge | What it means | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| **Active** | Your plan is active. The card shows the price and the **Renews** date. | Nothing. |
| **Trial ends** with a date, or **Trial** | You are on your free trial. The card says **Billing starts automatically after that.** | Nothing. To change plans, see [Switch plans](/docs/billing/trial-change-cancel.md#switch-plans). |
| **Pending approval** | You chose a plan but haven't approved the charge in Shopify. The card says **Your subscription is waiting for approval in Shopify. Finish the approval to activate it.** | Click **Choose plan** on your plan and approve the charge. |
| **Paused** | Shopify has paused billing because your store is frozen. | Nothing in Block Hero. It resumes automatically when your store is reactivated. |
| **Cancelled** | Your subscription was cancelled. The card says **Your subscription was cancelled. Choose a plan below to reactivate Block Hero.** | Choose a plan on the **Plans** page. |
| **Complimentary** | Your store has free access. The card says **This store has complimentary access. Nothing is billed.** | Nothing. |
| **Unmatched subscription** | Your store has a Shopify subscription that isn't linked to a Block Hero plan yet. A warning says your features are unaffected. | Nothing is needed to keep using Block Hero. If you have questions, contact [accounts@blockhero.io](mailto:accounts@blockhero.io). |
| **No plan** | Your store doesn't have a plan. The card says **You don't have a plan yet. Choose one below to get started.** | Choose a plan on the **Plans** page. |

A **Test** badge next to the status means the subscription is a test charge.

## Banners at the top of Block Hero

Some statuses also show a banner at the top of every Block Hero page, except **Plans**.

| Banner | When | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| **Choose a plan to keep using Block Hero** | **No plan** or **Cancelled** | Click **Choose a plan**. |
| **Your subscription is paused** | **Paused** | Nothing. Block Hero resumes automatically when your store is reactivated. |
| **Your free trial ends in** a number of days, or **Your free trial ends today** | The last three days of your trial | Nothing, unless you want to change plans. Click **View plans**. |
