Badges, colours and icons

Block Hero uses Shopify’s own badge colours, so they mean the same thing as elsewhere in your Shopify admin.

Colour	Usually means
Green	Live, done or connected. Nothing to do.
Yellow	Waiting, or needs a look from you.
Orange	Something is overriding the normal behaviour.
Red	Something failed. Act on it.
Blue	Information only.
Grey	Ended, off, or a plain label.

Scheduler

The Scheduler table lists your blocks with their schedules and results.

Block type icons

The first column shows an icon for each block’s type. Hover over it to see the type’s name.

Date badges in Content schedules

Each badge is one schedule. It shows the dates in your store’s time zone:

Oct 1-Oct 14: starts Oct 1, ends Oct 14.
Oct 1+: starts Oct 1 and has no end date.

Badge	Colour	Meaning	What to do
Dates	Green	The schedule is live now.	Nothing.
Dates	Yellow	The schedule starts later.	Nothing.
Dates	Grey	The schedule has ended.	Nothing.
Dates	Orange	Content in this schedule has a status set by hand, so it ignores the dates. Hover to read Content here is set by hand and ignores this schedule. Open the block for details.	Open the block. See Setting a status by hand.
+ and a number, such as +2	Grey	More schedules than fit.	Hover to see their dates.

Which badges show:

Every schedule that overlaps the period picked at the top of the page.
Every upcoming schedule, whatever the period. Last 30 days ends yesterday, so upcoming schedules would otherwise be hidden.
Every live schedule, whatever the period, including one that started today.
Every orange badge, whatever the period, because the status set by hand changes your store now.

Up to two badges show. Orange badges come first, then the newest schedule by start date, so upcoming schedules come before live ones and live ones before ended ones.

Not published	Red	Next to the block’s name on the Scheduler and on the block’s page	Your last change didn’t reach your store. Your store still shows the previous version. Your changes are saved in Block Hero.	Click Try again in the red banner. See Troubleshooting publishing.

Block page

Badge	Colour	Where	Meaning	What to do
Enabled	Green	Next to the block’s name	The block is on.	Nothing.
Disabled	Grey	Next to the block’s name	The block is off and shows nothing on your store, whatever its schedules say.	Turn it on if you want it to show. See Turn a block on or off.
Not saved	Yellow	Next to Content Scheduling	You have changes in the schedule card that aren’t saved yet.	Click Save in the save bar, or discard.
Active	Green	On each schedule, and on each piece of content on Image Banner and Media Banner blocks	Live now.	Nothing.
Scheduled	Yellow	Same	Starts later.	Nothing.
Inactive	Grey	Same, and in the Inactive card	Ended, or set to Inactive by hand. Not on your store.	Restore it if you want it back. See Edit, restore or delete.
Content name	Grey	Inside a schedule	One piece of content in that schedule.	Click it to open the content.

Banners on the block page

The Setup Guide

On a Block Hero block’s page, the Setup Guide shows your progress.

Cue	Meaning	What to do
Dashed grey circle	Step not done yet.	Do the step. Or click the circle (Mark as done) to tick it yourself.
White tick on a dark circle	Step done.	Nothing. Click it (Mark as not done) to undo.
Progress bar and 1 / 3 completed	How many steps are done.	Nothing.
Grey tick and Done	Every step is done.	Click Dismiss Guide.

Content form

Auto-filled	Purple	Next to Image alt text	Block Hero filled in the alt text for you. Hover to see where it came from.	Nothing, or type your own.

When you set a status by hand on a piece of content, a blue banner says This content status is manually overridden. Click Click here to go back to the dates, then save.

Number on the right	None	How many blocks of that type you have. A theme section always shows 1.	Nothing.
No badge on a theme section	None	Connected. A badge only shows when something is wrong.	Nothing.
Needs you	Yellow	The section needs you to finish or fix something.	Open the section. See Connection status.
Disconnected	Grey	The section is no longer connected to Block Hero.	Nothing. See Disconnect a theme section.

On a Block Hero block type’s page, the title shows a grey Block Hero block badge, and fields and theme settings are listed as grey badges. They’re labels only.

Theme section page

Connected	Green	Theme connection card, and the Section panel on the block page	The section is linked and on your live theme.	Nothing.
Needs you	Yellow	Next to the page title, the Theme connection card, and the Section panel on the block page	Some settings aren’t linked, the section has gone from your live theme, or a theme update removed its links.	Follow the steps on the page. See Connection status.
Disconnecting	Yellow	Next to the page title and in the Theme connection card	You started disconnecting the section and haven’t finished.	Follow the steps or banner on the page. See Disconnect a theme section.
Green tick	Green	Each step in Finish in the theme editor or Unlink in the theme editor	That step is done.	Nothing.
Empty circle	Grey	Same	That step isn’t done yet.	Do it in the theme editor, then check again.
Not scheduled	Grey	Next to a field	The field is switched off. The theme editor’s value shows.	Switch it on to schedule it. See Choose which fields to schedule.

When you connect a section, the review step lists each field with a grey type badge, such as Image or Text. Settings under Stays in the theme editor show as grey badges too. They’re labels only.

Banners on the theme section page

A theme update removed the section’s links to Block Hero	Orange	Click Reconnect, or Stop scheduling these fields.
This section is no longer on that page of your live theme.	Orange	Check the page in the theme editor, then Check connection.
This section is connected to another Block Hero block on your live theme.	Orange	Keep one block and disconnect the other.
Scheduling has stopped. Delete the block to finish disconnecting	Orange	Click Delete block.

Results and metrics

Scheduler > block page > Performance card: a metric name with its dotted underline and tooltip, a Since note under a value, a dash with its tooltip, and the...

Cue	Where	Meaning	What to do
Dotted underline under a label	Metric names on the Performance card and in View report, and Since and Not counted yet notes	Hover to see a definition or explanation. On the Scheduler metrics bar, hover over the name to see the same.	Hover.
A dash instead of a number	Any metric	No number to show: nothing to divide by (such as CTR with no impressions), not counted yet, or analytics couldn’t load. It is not the same as 0.	Hover to see which. See When you see a dash.
0	Any metric	Block Hero was counting and nothing happened.	Nothing.
Since and a date, such as Since Oct 4	Next to a number	Block Hero started counting this metric on that day. Earlier days in your period aren’t counted.	Hover for details. See When counting starts.
Not counted yet	Next to a metric	Block Hero hasn’t started counting it for your store.	Hover to see what starts it.

If analytics can’t load, a dash shows with Analytics are temporarily unavailable. Content is unaffected. on hover. Your schedules keep running.

Plans

Trial ends and a date, or Trial	Blue	Current plan card	You’re on your free trial.	Nothing.
Pending approval	Yellow	Current plan card	The charge is waiting for your approval in Shopify.	Click Choose plan and approve it.
Paused	Orange	Current plan card	Shopify paused billing because your store is frozen.	Nothing. It resumes when your store is reactivated.
Cancelled	Red	Current plan card	Your subscription was cancelled.	Choose a plan.
Complimentary	Blue	Current plan card	Free access. Nothing is billed.	Nothing.
Unmatched subscription	Orange	Current plan card	Your Shopify subscription isn’t linked to a Block Hero plan yet. Your features are unaffected.	Nothing. Contact us with questions.
